Elena Dimitrova, on travel observations in Bulgaria.
Exploring landscape, culture, and ancient history as a unified public space.
My Background
I am a travel writer and independent researcher. My work explores how historical routes and natural geography shape modern travel pathways in Bulgaria, with a focus on environmental sustainability, local heritage preservation, and hiking access.
Why This Notebook
Bulgaria's travel geography is incredibly rich, containing ancient Roman roads, Thracian sanctuaries, medieval fortresses, and spectacular mountain ranges. Yet, most travel content remains highly commercialized, focusing on hotel bookings and ticket sales. This journal is a personal, observer-led study of these spaces, designed for travelers who seek a deeper connection with the terrain.
Independent Stance
This journal is entirely independent and non-commercial. We sell no tours, display no third-party advertisements, and have no commercial relationships with local tourism agencies. The reviews represent purely independent observations made from walking the trails, visiting ruins, and reading local historical archives.
Bulgarian landscapes are more than just destinations; they are layers of classical history, alpine ecology, and warm hospitality waiting to be read.
